What can you do that will get your automobile burning the gas as cleanly as possible, leaving less soot and deposits in the combustion chamber and on the valves, cleaning the injection system, or in vehicles the carburetor, while not damaging emissions systems, not causing your warranty to be voided, and, ultimately, getting you reduced gas consumption and better engine life?
In recent experiments it has been concluded that aromatic petroleum distillates, alcohol (methyl alcohol), ether, acetone, and toluene all perform all of these functions. That is to a point. If put in too much of any of these it backfires. The ideal mixture researched that was easiest to use in order to obtain and maintain reduced gas consumption was 1-2 ounces of acetone in a full 10 gallon tank
Pure acetone actually prevents vaporization rather than acting as a fuel additive. So acetone is not actually fuel. It does a lot with a little - very small amounts from about one-quarter of 1% to 1/3 of 1%. MPG starts to reduce if you put in more.
In addition to aiding Mileage, Acetone cuts pollution dramatically and gives longer life to engines. The optimum ratio
is approximately equivalent to 2 to 3 oz. per 10 gallons and this will increase MPG
about 25-percent or more. Your MPG will improve and vehicle's performance too. You will achieve a smoother running engine to last longer by attaining better vaporization and MPG . Those teaspoons of Acetone reduce the amount of unutilized gas to nearly nothing.
One head's up - Acetone is PAINT REMOVER so please use a small stainless steel measuring cup and long funnel to protect your paint. Acetone should not be bought from drug stores. Their brands are diluted in a lot of places out there because it has been weakened with impurities . Good Acetone has that powerful Acetone odor. Canadian acetone is usually the best. Go to a good paint supplies store .
The other problem is that the oil industry tries to prevent you from saving on gasoline and you may end up voiding the warranty as they sometimes check for gas additives like acetone.
One more important point, since mixing in acetone makes your system more efficient and able to burn gas cleaner it is better for the environment - less emmissions.
Many other tips are just plain contradictory or wrong...
I found several articles that
suggest don't use your AC which is great if you are a resident of or it is 100 degrees in Manhattan! Then I found one article that advises to keep the vehicle's
windows open in the city streets but to keep your AC on when you are on the freeways because if you have the windows open while driving at high speeds adds drag which increases gas consumption.
Who's right? Who's wrong? Who cares? Does it lower gas consumption? No, probably not!
The most bona fide solution to lower your gas consumption, with gasoline prices in the $3-4.50 range during the last year or so is to sever your umbilical cord... the one that chains you to the gasoline pump and shed your chains of slavery to the oil companies and....
Convert to a hydrogen engine!
What if you never had to purchase another gallon of gas again?
Convert your gas engine to hydrogen.
If you do a partial (hybrid) conversion then you should see reduced gas consumption of up to 30% maybe more.
If you do this and also add acetone to your gas tank (which will save you another 25% or so) then you will have reduced your gas consumption by a combined 50%! Put in about 2-3 ounces of acetone per 10 gallons of gas and the gas will evaporate less easily and you lower your gas consumption by 25% or more.
If you do a full gas to hydrogen conversion then you will have pumped your last gallon of gas for the rest of your life. It is a piece of cake to do, costs hardly anything, doesn't pollute the environment and you will enjoy the
pleasure of knowing that you are conserving resources instead of using up more than your fair share.
