Ted Brin is a student at the University of Texas majoring in International Business. Ted his a junior at UT, and recently made the decision to upgrade from his Cannondale Scalpel mountain bike to a new Chevrolet Express. Ted lives near the Northpark Dallas street and he just met a local girl, Trinity, that he wants to ask out on a date. In order to increase his chances of her saying yes he is going to need a car.

There exists a slight problem though. He has enough dough to buy the Chevrolet Express, but he is only 22 years of age, which will mean that most valuable insurers will quote him a coverage policy rate that will cost him more money than the average driver. Ted remembers a 'Financial Savings' class taught by Professor Caleb Torres, in which he mentioned some automotive insurance discounts that would allow Dallas college-aged driver drivers to save tons of dough on local auto insurance coverage.

Part 2: Ted Decides to search for Citytrustworthy Vehicle Insurance Discount Information

Continuing with our story, Ted decides that it is up to him to find Dallas auto insurance discounts, and trustworthy information to advise him on the process. Grabbing his laptop, he rapidly plops down on his bed, and connects to the internet on a wi-fi connection. He immediately draws a blank.

"Where should I look first for information?" he asks himself. "Ahh, I know", he responds out loud. He opens up is Safari internet browser and navigates to Live.com. First he attempts to search using the query "cheap auto insurance in dallas texas tx", but the listings returned seem off-the-subject. His next step is to punch in a query for "auto insurance Dallas Texas TX discounts" using the Live.com search tool.

Compellingly enough, the top-level listing that Live.com returns is for a site called www.dallasinsurance.com. Ted clicks on the link and is directed to home page with a mustard-colored auto logo up top, and a huge hazel section below that says: Enter Your Zip Code to Get a Quote Now. "Oh Great" he immediately thinks. "This page has nothing to do with automotive insurance discounts. What a Crock!"

Ted Finds The Dallas Chamber of Commerce Website

Feeling a bit disappointed, Ted tries to remember what was covered in the 'Financial' class he attended with Prof. Caleb Torres. He vaguely remembers the professor stating that the crystal clear first place to look for smart info is the Dallas, Texas Chamber of Commerce website. The Chamber of Commerce site can be judged more trustworthy because it employs fair & impartial authors for article generation.

With his new-found epiphany he quickly hits the 'BACK' button in the browser and is directed back to the Live.com search page. He enters in "Dallas Chamber of Commerce", and then clicks on the top link that returns. He is taken to www.dallaschamber.org, and is relieved to find zero valuable advertisements, which - in his mind - means that the site is more trustworthy because they aren't trying to get any money from him. Ted surfs through a site a bit, and after just a few minutes finds a link to the Texas Department of Insurance website. He clicks on the link and thinks to himself "Outstanding!" He is a tad excited because he feels his search is finally coming to fruition. Using the site's search box, he performs a search for "auto insurance discounts", and on the returned page he clicks on a hazel-colored link to an article.

Interestingly enough after spending only 30 minutes on the TDI site, he is successful in coming up with all the amazing Dallas automotive insurance discounts for Young Adults (aged 16-25). Here is what Ted finds:
1. "Occasional Driver" Status Discount
2. Distant-student Discount
3. "Occasional Driver" Status Discount
4. Distant-student Discount
5. Good Grade Discount for Young Adults

Now How Does Ted Find Dependable Agents? - He Uses the Dallas Yellow Pages Vehicle Search Query

"Now I need to find a list Dallas automotive insurance agents", he thinks to himself. Remembering one of the preferred topics covered in the 'Financial" class, he recalls the teacher stating that a first-rate way to save money was to get more than one quote - at least 4 different quotes from Dallas auto insurers.

He navigates back to Live.com and tries a search for "us auto insurance services dallas", but the search results seem unreliable. He rapidly recalls an earlier success he had finding Dallas automotive insurance companies by using the Dallas Yellow Pages-Auto Insurance website, and lucky for him he preserved the link in his Favorites folder; he clicked the links and a list of Agents' phone numbers came up. He decided that it was preferred to talk to a real agent on the phone versus signing up online, so he could take advantage of all the Young Adult Discounts he had discovered for college-aged drivers.

Compellingly enough, most insurers won't allow you to apply online for Young Adult Discounts, so a first-rate choice was to talk directly with an agent over the phone.

Sweet Success - Ted Conserves Some Dough

After about a week, Ted got back his quotes from the 5 Unrivaled insurers he applied to. To see just how much money the college-aged driver discounts ended up saving him, he asked each insuring agency to provide him with 2 quotes: one quote with the Young Adult discounts applied, and the second quote without. With most of the agent replies, the price savings (with college-aged driver discounts applied) was over $259! And what is even more Arduous to believe, with one insurer he was able to save $351 with the discounts! "Great!" he exclamed, "I guess being prepared & smart in my search for Dallas auto insurance was the cool decision."
